Eric Hanna, Ph.D.

Dr. Eric Hanna is the Department Head and Staff Psychologist at Alliant International University’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center on the San Diego Campus. Dr. Hanna is a licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, relationship concerns,adjustment difficulties, and stress management.
 
Dr. Hanna utilizes both Humanistic and Positive Psychology approaches in his work with clients, emphasizing strength-based themes.  He serves as the primary supervisor for the pre-doctoral interns as well as the group supervisor for both the pre- and post-doctoral interns and fellows.
 
Dr. Hanna earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California at San Diego and obtained his master’s and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology-San Diego. 
 
 
Dr. Hanna is a member of the American Psychological Association and the San Diego Psychological Association.

Ms. Ayesha Suneja, M.A. is a pre-doctoral intern at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center on Alliant International University’s San Diego Campus. She is accruing pre-doctoral supervised psychological experience towards licensure as a clinical psychologist. Ms. Suneja earned her Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Psychology and her Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University, San Diego. Ms. Suneja has clinical experience in a variety of settings including community mental health, inpatient psychiatric facilities, outpatient treatment centers and private practice. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, groups, couples and families presenting with various issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, cultural challenges, relationship issues, mood and personality disorders. Her speciailities include mindfulness, meditation and transpersonal healing. Ms. Suneja implements an integrative style of therapy, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, in order to meet the unique needs of each individual.

 Laura Thode, M.A.

 

 
 


 

 

Ms. Laura Thode is a Masters level clinician and elective practicum student at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center on Alliant International University's San Diego campus.

Ms. Thode has experience working in community mental health and behavioral health applying biofeedback. She has worked clinically with children, emerging adults, adults, adolescents, and couples.  Her therapeutic areas include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, identity development and stress management.  She has a person-centered approach when working with individuals, while her approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she draws upon other modalities such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness.

Ms. Thode earned her Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood Education at the University of Costa Rica, and earned her Masters of Arts in Psychology (M.A.) at Alliant International University in California.  Ms. Thode’s current dissertation work focuses on the use of Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback as a complementary treatment for Depression.
